free maple leaf pattern!
row 1: ch six, sc in second ch from hook and next three chains. work 5 sc in next ch, wrapping around to other side. sc once in each of next three chains and then work 4 sc in last ch, join to sc on other side with sl stitch. ch 1, turn.
row 2: work 2 sc in sl st, work 2 sc in each of next three sc. ch1, turn
row 3: *sc once in next sc, two sc in sc after that* 4 times. ch1, turn
first leaflet: sc once in each of next two sc, ch1, turn. sc once in each of next two sc, ch1, turn. sc decrease and then sl st down the side of the leaflet you just made until you return to the next sc of the maid body of the leaf.]
second leaflet: sc once in each of next two sc, ch1, turn. sc twice in eachof next two sc, ch1, turn. sc once in each of next four sc, ch1, turn. sc decrease twice, ch1, turn. sc decrease once and then sl st down the side of the leaflet you just made until you return to the next sc of the main body of the leaf.
third leaflet: sc once in eachof next four sc, ch1, turn. sc once in each of next four sc, ch1, turn. sc twice in next sc, sc once in each of next two sc, sc twice in next sc,ch1,turn. sc once in each of next six sc. sc decrease, sc once in each of next two sc, sc decrease, ch1, turn. sc decrease twice,ch1,turn. sc decrease once and then sl st down the side of the leaflet you just made until you return to the next sc of the main body of the leaf.
fourth and fifth leaflets: work as for second and first leaflets, respectively.
to finish: in the same or a contrasting color, work a sc border around the outside of the leaf, decreasing at inner corners / between leaflets and increasing at outer corners / tips of leaflets.
And you’re done!
