instructions!

row 1: chain 4. dc 5 times in 4th chain from hook. ch 3, turn.
row 2: dc once in each dc across, ch 3, turn.
row 3: dc once in each of next 2 dc, sl st in next dc, dc once in each of next 2 dc. ch 3, turn.
edge: down the left side, work 5 sc and 1 hdc (6 st total) by working a stitch into the side of each dc halfway down, and then another at the base 3 times to make 6 stitches. Now you should be at the bottom of the apple where your first chain was. work 4 sc into that chain, and work 1 hdc and 5 sc evenly up the right side the same way you did for the left. now, you should be back up at the beginning of row 3.
last row: dc once in each of next 2 dc, sl st in next dc, dc once in each of next 2 dc. fasten off and weave in ends.
to make stem: attach brown yarn in the sl st dent in the center top of the apple. ch1, sc once in dent. chain 1, turn. sc in in previously made sc and fasten off.
to make leaf: chain 5. sc once in 2nd chain from hook. hdc in next chain. sc in next chain. (sl st, ch 1, sl st) in next chain in order to get to other side of leaf. sc in next chain, hdc in next chain, sc in next chain, fasten off. sew leaf to top of apple.
